Goddess Necklace

Goddess Necklace

Here it is, my first finished piece with my very own lampwork beads! The goddess bead and the two big purple beads are mine. The necklace is tubular netting up to the big purple beads, then it's strung and fringed and finished with Swarovski crystals. I'm pleased with it.

You Have GOT To See This

My beading friend Sarah Kelley over at The Beaded Lily has just finished one of the most beautiful pieces of beadwork I have ever seen. Do yourself a favor and go look at her blog post about it. You'll be blown away.

Goddesses in My Hand

Here are my first couple of Goddess beads. They are really fun to make! I made a lot of mistakes, of course, but I can see how to improve. If I'm not careful I may never come out of the studio.

Working with hot glass is like falling in love, kind of.

Lampworked and Listed!

Got The Blues? Bracelet
Originally uploaded by satyridae
I finished putting some lampwork bead jewelry together last night, and this morning I listed it on etsy. I really like the way this bracelet looks. It goes click click click when it's on, which is also cool. If you aren't too distractable, that is. What? Sorry, I was listening to the click click click of mindfulness as spoken by this bracelet. Another thing I like about it is that it hangs together nicely without being all matchy-matchy. There are earrings that sort of go with the bracelet, and then two other pairs of earrings besides.

Now let's just hope that I'm not the only one who digs the stuff I make!

Latest Lampworked Beads

One kiln-full

Here are all the beads I made on Sunday. I feel like I'm really making some progress in terms of consistency and form. I'm trying to confine myself to simple beads for the moment, just dots. Though I was unable to resist trying an encased chrysanthemum. And a few other odd bits that didn't quite live up to my vision. Still, I'm really happy with this batch!
